Lone Star Credit Union has been around for a while now, serving members with the same great service they've come to expect. LSCU started out small, but we continue to grow, now serving about 30 employee groups and over 12,000 members in and around Texas!
| 1967 | Founded as Lone Star Gas Employees Federal Credit Union. First members and officers of credit union were employees of Lone Star Gas Company. See the announcement from the 'Blue Blaze' gas company newsletter. |
| 1972 | Credit union is renamed Lone Star Gas Federal Credit Union. |
| 1970's | With the acquisition of Lone Star Gas by Enserch Corporation, the credit union changed its name to Enserch Federal Credit Union. |
| 1980's | Enserch Federal Credit Union continues to grow and expand with its sponsor. At one time the credit union had offices in various Texas cities and at the World Trade Center II in New York City. |
| 1990 | Merged in Northeast Texas Federal Credit Union. Credit Union opened Greenville, TX office. |
| 1995 | Merged in Buckner Credit Union. |
| 1998 | Following the purchase of Enserch Corporation by TXU, the credit union becomes an entity independent of its sponsor group. |
| 2000 | Credit union changes to state charter and to a community field of membership. Credit union can serve previous employee groups as well a residents of Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, Delta, and Rains counties. Name of credit union is changed to Lone Star Credit Union. |
| 2003 | Lone Star Credit Union merges Terrell Community Credit Union and keeps Terrell TX office. |
| 2004 | For first time credit union adds eligible non-members financing a vehicle at a participating automobile dealership. |
| 2006 | New Terrell branch of Lone Star Credit Union opens. |
| 2007 | Lone Star Credit Union receives permission to serve any resident or business within a ten mile radius of the Dallas branch at 7508 Ferguson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228. |
